In this talk, Lisa discusses how creating “good” tax policy is hard, how some common benefits under the current U.S. federal tax policy worsen societal inequities, and highlighted some policies aimed at addressing these inequities.

Lisa De Simone is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research examines how multinational corporations and individuals respond to tax incentives worldwide. She teaches tax and personal finance courses to students in undergraduate and graduate business and accounting programs.
