POSITION SUMMARY:

Nestle Market Audit, based in St. Louis, MO provides internal audit services for all Nestle’ North American business units including Nestle’ USA, Nestle’ Purina Pet Care, Nestle’ Waters North America, Nestle’ Nutrition, Nestle’ Professional North America, Nestle’ Canada Inc., and Nestle’ in Mexico business locations. Based in our downtown St. Louis, Missouri office, Nestle’ Market Audit interns participate in audits with a team of our audit professionals, providing real-life internal audit experience and opportunities to apply academic experience in a team setting.

Nestle Market Audit is currently seeking undergraduate students with a strong interest in a career in internal audit. Nestlé Market Audit interns play a key role in our internal audits. Working under the supervision of experienced internal audit professionals, highlights of this exciting and accelerated 10-12 week internship program include:

  • Gain knowledge, awareness and understanding of the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
  • Participate in all aspects of team-based internal control reviews of Nestlé and / or Purina business operations to gain experience in internal control and business risk concepts including:
  • Assist in the planning of internal audit reviews, including assessment of business risk.
  • Review and assess business processes and perform detailed testing of internal controls to ensure identified risk areas are properly controlled.
  • Participate in client meetings and discussions.
  • Help promote the importance of internal controls through the maintenance and enhancement of content on our departmental intranet site.
  • Support completion of other audit department projects and reporting initiatives as assigned.

Roles/Responsibilities:

This internship will provide you with real life experiences of an audit associate at Nestle Market Audit, working across multiple operating companies. During your internship you will be provided significant coaching and mentoring that will challenge you to grow professionally. Successful performance during the internship, combined with the needs of the business, can lead to a full-time position with our team, including opportunities for international audit positions.

Our Interns participate in up to three key projects over the ten week period that challenges them to perform in depth analysis, assess business processes from a ‘big picture’ perspective, identify opportunities to enhance company efficiency, and develop value-adding recommendations to be considered by all levels of company management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Participation through performing all aspects (planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up) of team-based internal control reviews
  • Researching best practices and assessing business risks in core company processes
  • Designing and executing detailed testing to assess the strength of key internal controls
  • Assessment of compliance with Company policies, the related risk and significance of noncompliance, and the effectiveness or efficiency of such policies.
  • Documenting testing and results per department working paper standards
  • Presentation of findings and recommendations in meetings with team members and clients
  • Maintaining and enhancing content on our departmental intranet site
  • Supporting completion of other department projects and reporting initiatives as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full time student with a graduation date between Fall 2013 and spring 2014 for a 4 year program and between fall 2013 and spring 2015 for a 5 year program at an accredited institution with a concentration in Internal Auditing or related field of study.Currently enrolled or will be enrolled, by January 2013, in an IIA Accredited Center for Internal Auditing Excellence program preferred.
  • Committed to working at least 10-12 full-time consecutive weeks between the end of May and August 2013
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0
  • Willing to travel up to 60%
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to review data and analyze business processes.
  • Knowledge of internal audit theory; familiarity with risk and internal control principles, and information systems.

Working under the supervision of experienced internal audit professionals, highlights of this exciting and accelerated 10-12 week internship program include:

  • Gain knowledge, awareness and understanding of the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
  • Participate in all aspects of team-based internal control reviews of Nestlé information systems/technologies to gain experience in internal control and business risk concepts including:
  • Assist in the planning of internal audit reviews, including assessment of business risk.
  • Review and perform detailed testing of internal controls related to information systems, applications, brand websites, security, and data centers to ensure identified risk areas are properly controlled.
  • Utilize data analysis tools (i.e., ACL, IDEA, Microsoft Office) and techniques against master and transactional data files to deliver comprehensive exception reporting against Nestlé policies.
  • Assist in Control Framework initiatives to review SAP role assignments to ensure approved Segregation of Duties cases are mitigated and allocation of highly sensitive roles are appropriate.
  • Participate in client meetings and discussions.
  • Help promote the importance of internal controls through the maintenance and enhancement of content on our departmental intranet site.
  • Support completion of other audit department projects and reporting initiatives as assigned.
