Class Note: Shudde Bess Bryson Fath, BBA ’37

Shudde Bess Bryson Fath, BBA ’37, and her daughter, Betsy Fath Hiller recently published Russell Lee In Color. The book contains 162 previously unpublished full-page color photos taken in 1963 by the renowned photographer during a 31-day boat trip from Mamaroneck, New York to Texas. The book also contains 29 other previously unpublished photos by or of Russell Lee. In 1965, Lee developed the Photography course in UT’s Fine Arts Department and taught there for 8 years. Fath was married to Conrad Fath, BA ’40, and BM ’43; he died in 1990. Fath retired in 1981 from 42 years at what is now the Texas Workforce Commission. In 2010, she retired from 29 years as treasurer of the Save Barton Creek Association. In 2017, she retired from 40 years as a volunteer on the citizens’ advisory Austin Electric Utility Commission.

Class Note: Jake Shelton, BBA ’02

Jake Shelton, BBA ’02, has been named the CFO and VP of Finance for Sysco East Texas. Jake joined Sysco in 2017 as market finance manager for the South Market. Jake previously held various roles in finance and accounting with Diamond Offshore and KPMG. Jake is a CPA and will be relocating to the Longview area with his family.

Class Note: Adam Bridgman, MPA ’12

Holt Ventures, the corporate investment division of Holt Cat, announced Adam Bridgman was named partner, managing the company’s investment portfolio and sourcing new opportunities that fit its investment criteria. In this role, Bridgman will be responsible for leading the investment process, from risk analysis and due diligence to closing.

Bridgman will also continue to support Holt Ventures’ existing portfolio of companies and evaluate opportunities for follow-on funding.

“Over the last few years, Holt Ventures has had the opportunity to work with and mentor a number of truly innovative companies that are bringing new solutions and smart technologies to our industry,” said Bridgman. “I look forward to continuing to define our strategic approach to investments and further promote our corporate mission.”

Bridgman joined Holt Ventures as managing director in 2014, helping launch the Holt Ventures investment platform focused on emerging companies in the construction and heavy equipment industries. Bridgman has an investment banking background, previously serving as an analyst for J.P. Morgan where he participated in all stages of leveraged finance transaction within its Diversified Industries Group. He graduated from the University of Texas, has a master’s in professional accounting from McCombs School of Business and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Read more

Class Note: William Turner, MSTC ’17

William Turner, MSTC ’17 has been quoted in over 100 news articles since graduation, and has transitioned to a new position as senior research analyst at Wood Mackenzie an energy intelligence firm. He spent a decade in offshore oil & gas engineering and project management prior to MSTC which prepared him for a shift to financial analysis and public speaking on important topics and trends of the industry. Publications include Bloomberg, Investor’s Business Daily, Reuters, New York Times, Journal of Petroleum Technology, CNN Money and international outlets.

Class Note: Garrett Trip, MBA ’98

Garrett Tripp, MBA ’98, is a partner & senior portfolio manager at Braddock Financial in Denver. After a decade of managing private funds, he is enjoying managing the Braddock Multi-Strategy Income Fund, and building the firm’s mutual fund business. His wife, Robyn (UT-MA Hispanic Literature), is a 3rd grade teacher.

Class Note: Lynn Utter, BBA ’84

Atlas Holdings announced the appointment of Lynn Utter to the newly-created role of chief talent officer. Utter, a national voice in the areas of strategic insight and operational excellence, brings over three decades of senior management experience to her new position. She currently serves as an independent director for two Fortune 500 companies, WESCO International, and Philadelphia-based Lincoln Financial Corporation.

Class Note: Dave Austin, BBA ’94

Dave Austin, BBA ’94, was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Nazdar SourceOne, a leading printing supply distributor for the industrial and textile printing industries. He previously served as the President and COO of GSI Technologies, a printed electronics and label manufacturer, in Chicago, Illinois. Dave is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) in both Chicago and Kansas City, Kansas.

Class Note: Lilly Galichi, BBA ’05

Lilly Ghalichi is a Persian American fashion designer, attorney, blogger and reality star who has a net worth of $2.5 million. Lilly Ghalichi rose to fame as a cast member of Bravo’s reality television show The Shahs of Sunset. While Lilly Ghalichi may look like a “Persian Barbie” with her long skinny legs and skimpy outfits, she is much more than meets the eye. In addition to being a knock out, Ghalichi is also an attorney, fashion designer, and blogger. Ghalichi is originally from Houston but moved to Los Angeles after passing the bar exam. Instead of pursuing a legal career, Ghalichi knew that her passions were in the fashion world. Lilly was introduced to the world of Shahs of Sunset as one of cast member Reza Farahan’s real estate clients. Outside of the world of reality television, Lilly Ghalichi has launched a line of racy bikinis that is inspired by lingerie called “Have Faith Swimgerie”. Lilly earned her Bachelor’s degree from Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin then went to Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where she graduated Cum Laude with honors. In addition to her line of swimgerie, Lilly recently launched a line of eyelashes called “Lilly Lashes”. Ghalichi was featured in seasons two and three of Shahs of Sunset. Her real name is Neelufar Seyed Ghalichi. She was born in Houston, Texas in April 1983 and married Dara Mir in 2017. Lilly Ghalihchi has also appeared in episodes of the TV series Good Day L.A., Big Morning Buzz Live, Bethenny, The Shahs Come Clean with Nadine, and Dr. Mona Vand: The Modern Pharmacist. Read more
