Class Note: Jorge Silva-Puras, MBA ’96

Jorge Silva-Puras, MBA ’96, has been proudly appointed as the interim provost at Lehman College.  Currently the interim dean at CUNY School of Professional Studies, Silva-Puras brings a wealth of experience, having served as provost at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and taught business and entrepreneurship courses. His diverse background equips him to lead Lehman College through a successful transition.

Lois Folger, BS ’84 & MS ’95, and Richard Folger, BBA ’81 & BS ’84, have established a transformative legacy at the University of Texas at Austin by contributing a remarkable $10 million endowment. This endowment, named the Lois and Richard Folger Athletics Director Endowment, is the largest of its kind nationally. It will provide perpetual funding for non-salaried strategic initiatives under the athletics director’s guidance, fostering innovation and enhancing the excellence of Texas Athletics. This contribution is a testament to their ongoing support, having previously established endowed chair positions across multiple disciplines at UT.

Leslie Lee, MBA ’98, a Hormel Foods executive, has been named one of the 2023 Top Women in Grocery by Progressive Grocer magazine.
