The McCombs Austin Alumni Chapter Presents Achieve Financial Success in 2025 and Beyond
Time: 6-8 p.m. (CT)
Cost: Free
Location: Robert B. Rowling Hall, Room 5.408
Please join the McCombs Austin Alumni Chapter as we kick off the new year with a review and discussion of personal finance and investing strategies for today and tomorrow.
Lina Laird, BBA ’05, founder of Passion to Invest will present investing basics and wealth-building strategies that are accessible, approachable, and proven. Her passion for teaching is based on her personal experience and an old proverb: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.” It essentially means that while the ideal time to act was in the past, the next best option is to start now. It is never too late to start. Knowing critical investment concepts is valuable for everyone, even if you use a financial planner or advisor.
Jim McMullan, MBA ’96, will discuss investing from a wealth management perspective. We will review the seven pillars of wealth management that provide a framework for financial success: investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, risk management, cash flow management, and legacy planning.
Lina and Jim will review the best ways to make progress toward long-term financial goals whether you are new to investing or a seasoned veteran. In addition, they will present various detailed scenarios to open up the discussion to attendees. We’ll design a plan together to make 2025 a professionally and financially successful year!
After the event those interested will adjourn to the beautiful Otopia Rooftop Lounge at the Otis Hotel across the street from Rowling Hall for libations, networking, and ongoing discussion.
Parking is available in the AT&T Conference Center and Robert Rowling Hall garages located on 20th Street. Standard rates apply. Free street parking is available in the government district below Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
