mattegeRecent doctoral graduate Matthew Ege won two awards at the Auditing Mid-Year Meeting, demonstrating the solid background in research he received as part of the accounting doctoral program. His paper, “Does Internal Audit Function Quality Deter Management Misconduct?,” forthcoming in The Accounting Review, received the Outstanding Dissertation Award given by the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association. Matt also took home the Best Conference Paper Award for “Internal Control Weaknesses and Financial Reporting Fraud,” a paper co-authored with accounting professors Dain Donelson and John McInnis.

As he heads off to Texas A&M in 2015, we congratulate him on his success here at The University of Texas at Austin.
