What is TVLIC?

The Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs  Investment Competition (TVLIC) is a unique opportunity for UT graduate students to pitch their startup ideas to a panel of investors and entrepreneurs to gain valuable feedback and advice. Every competitor has a chance at over $50,000 in cash awards and other in-kind support, including a $15,000 grand prize.  The competition is open to any UT graduate student.  Apply to TVLIC now!

How does JBTVL support applicants and competitors?

For questions, details on awards categories and eligibility requirements, please see the Rules and FAQs.  To help competitors better understand the event and best practices, we recorded a virtual info session which can be accessed here: TVLIC 101: Competition Info and Pitch Tips

All applicants get access to office hours and private coaching to prepare for the big day!  Also, the first four competitors to apply get a private coaching session with founder of The Pitch Academy, Melissa Murphy, Ph.D. Additionally, JBTVL collaborated with The Launchpad to bring you an interactive workshop, Pitch Please, taking place on Thursday November 18 at 6pm.  RSVP for Pitch Please and you can join online, or join us at the JBTVL suite in Rowling Hall for a livestream watch party with refreshments and rapid fire feedback provided!

Please feel free to reach out to infoTVL@mccombs.utexas.edu  with any questions you have or to set up some time to discuss your venture or the application process.
