ISMP is a national nonprofit organization that offers mentorship and networking opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students. The majority of our mentors in the Austin chapter are UT staff, graduate students, or alumni. International students face many challenges with language and cultural barriers, especially as they transition to college life, and our goal is to help them with these challenges. ISMP offers a personalized mentorship program in a 1-on-1 or small group setting and practical workshops and webinars covering a wide range of topics:

  • English conversation
  • Grad school applications
  • Academic integrity
  • Time and stress management
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Successful transition to America
  • Resume and job workshops

Another opportunity that the ISMP is providing is our upcoming Leadership Seminar Series. They will be presenting key attributes that international students need in order to become leaders, and will have lab time to help put what we hear to practice. The seminar will have two options on March 5 (Friday) and March 6 (Saturday). For more information and to sign up for the seminar: https://leadership.internationalmentorship.org
