socialmediaLooking to make a little extra money? We’re looking for a student worker to help out the Marketing and Communications Manager for 10 hours each week. If you have experience with Social Media and would like to be the student voice for the MPA program, this is a perfect opportunity for you!

This paid opportunity is based in the area of marketing and will provide a student the opportunity to gain actual work experience in the social media and marketing field. This role involves:

  • Posting in a variety of social media channels, utilizing a student voice in order to inform and generate conversations about Texas MPA.
  • Managing our LinkedIn community,  posting content and answering questions (or directing them to the Marketing Manager).
  • Working with Marketing Manager to plan social media campaigns throughout the school year.
  • Writing blog posts or short pieces as needed for the MPA blog and web pages. No worries, you will be edited!
  • Assist in the maintenance of the MPA website.
  • Work on projects depending on skill set: graphic design, video clip work, student interviews, etc. If there is an area of marketing you are specifically interested in, we can definitely target projects to this.

Requirements
Candidates must have knowledge of social media. Preference to those who currently maintain personal accounts on any of these platforms: Twitter, Instagram, Vine, YouTube, Facebook or a blog. While there is much learning that will occur in this position, some knowledge is needed in order to successfully fill the role. We would prefer candidates that can commit to a full year, Spring and Fall. The MPA Social Media Student will need to work 10 hours a week but these hours are flexible and can be set to work around your schedule.
