BVA provides transaction advisory services, such as fairness opinions and solvency opinions, as well as valuation analyses for financial reporting, tax, estate planning, bankruptcy and restructuring, and a variety of other purposes.  Our clients include both public and private companies, as well as private equity firms, venture capital groups, and top national and international accounting and law firms.

The University of Texas at Austin is a close member of the BVA family. BVA senior partners participate on the board of the Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst Center for Private Equity Finance, provide endowments for both The McCombs School of Business and The Plan II Honors Program, speak at UT symposiums, and lecture to graduate classes at The McCombs’ School of Business among numerous other activities.

Responsibilities for a spring analyst will be the same as a first-year starting analyst. Activities during your internship could include:

•   Perform discounted cash flow, comparable company and precedent transaction analysis;

•  Assist with a variety of analyses involving economic damages calculations, Monte Carlo simulations, and valuation of complex financial instruments, such as exotic options, interest rate swaps, and other derivatives;

•  Research and analyze industry and company-specific trends and ratios;

•  Review and analyze highly confidential documents relating to various transactions and legal disputes; and

•  Participate in meetings with C-level executives, attorneys, private equity professionals, and accounting professionals.
