Lecturer Gretchen Charrier knew she was going to win the Professor of the Semester for Fall 2015 when she attended President Fenves’ Women of Excellence Reception, but imagine her surprise when she was also handed the Professor of the Year award!

Gretchen teaches primarily financial and managerial accounting. As an alumni of the MPA program here at McCombs, she has a unique perspective into the needs of our students. In addition to serving as the Internship Coordinator for the BBA and MPA Programs, she also serves as a faculty mentor for both Plan II and the Bridging Disciplines Program. Before McCombs, Gretchen earned her BS in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and worked in a variety of roles for companies including KPMG and PWC.

Each year, the UT Senate of College Councils awards Professor of the Year to one instructor at the university who demonstrates outstanding teaching ability and a commitment to their students and the university. A panel selects the winner based upon the quality of student responses on the nomination form with careful consideration given to the character and professionalism of the nominee, as well as in-class interactions with the instructor.
