The MPA Program Office is excited to announce that Kelly Ayers has joined the Career Services team as a Peer Career Consultant.

We asked Kelly a few things to get to know her. Let’s see what we have in common…

  • Why did you become an MPA student?
I chose to become an MPA student after taking the introductory accounting courses and really becoming interested in the material. I also had an older brother who had gone through the program so I was able to see all the opportunities available to MPA students. I felt this program would best allow me to pursue my interests in the accounting industry and attain a job that I truly enjoyed.
  • Why did you become a PCC?
I became a PCC in order to guide other students, particularly during the recruiting process, as I found having assistance to be very beneficial in my own experiences. I also wanted to have the opportunity to help contribute to the growth of the MPA program and its continued success.
  • What hobbies/interests do you have?
My hobbies include dance, swimming, and golf.
  • Do you have any pets (names, ages, etc.)?
I have one dog, Muffin, who is a cockapoo and is now 14 years old.
  • If you weren’t at work right now, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t at work right now, I would like to be traveling, preferably to a place near a beach or lake or just anywhere that it is not over 100 degrees every day.
  • If you won the lottery, what would you buy first?
If I won the lottery, my first purchase would be a house on the beach in North Carolina as this is where I hope to live at some point in my future.
