MPA Virtual Mock Interview Day is on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.   Registration is now open in RecruitMcCombs.

WHY IT WORKS

  • Practice. Real interviewers will use real interview questions to help you simulate their real interview.
  • Instant Advice. Interviewers will give you verbal advice immediately after your interview so that you can continue to work on your skills. In addition, they will complete a comprehensive feedback sruvey, which MPA Career Management will provide to you.
  • Early Advantage. In the past, some students met their real interviewer through their mock interviews. A comfort level exists when you meet someone for the second time, especially in a real interview. In addition, some students have received real offers from their mock interviews.

 

HOW IT WORKS

The sign-up deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022. You can sign up for multiple 30-minute virtual sessions. You select the time, and RecruitMcCombs randomly selects an interviewer for you. MPA Career Management will send you instructions on how to access the name(s) of your mock interviewer(s) before the date of the event.

 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Log in to RecruitMcCombs: https://msb-utexas-csm.symplicity.com/students
  • Click Job Postings on the left and “Search OCIs/RCs” from the drop-down
  • In the search bar enter “MPA mock interview”
  • Click a position and click Apply and Interview
  • Once you “Apply and Interview” for the position (register for an interview) you must go back in to schedule a time. If you submitted your resume without scheduling a time slot, navigate to: Manage My OCIs > and click on the three dots > Schedule Interview.
  • Select a resume.  Make sure it is in the correct MPA format.
  • Select additional job titles for additional practice if desired

 

RESCHEDULING/CANCELLING MOCK INTERVIEWS BEFORE THE SIGN-UP END DATE:

  • Click on the “Scheduled Interviews” tab
  • Select either “Reschedule” or “Cancel” (click on the three dots to the right of the title for these options)

 

NOTE: Cancelations after the interview sign-up date (January 27) will result in losing access to RecruitMcCombs

 

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING WAITLISTS
As there are 12 employer schedules, if you can’t find the time you want in a particular room, check another room, rather than adding yourself to a waitlist.
