Hi MPAs:

Today is the last day to sign up for MPA Mock Interview Marathon (Tuesday, September 10, 2013)! Use this event to triangulate, survey, and sharpen your skills for MPA recruiting.

The sign-up deadline is 11:59 p.m. today, Tuesday, September 3. You can sign up for multiple 30-minute sessions. You select the time, and OCR randomly selects an interviewer for you. After the sign-up deadline, MPA Career Services will send you the name of your mock interviewer. Slots are limited.

OCR: SIGN-UP INSTRUCTIONS

·         Go to: https://msb-utexas-csm.symplicity.com/students/index.php?s=home

·         Login using your UT EID

·         Click on the OCI/RCs tab.

·         Go to the Keywords field, type MPA Mock Interview, and click the Search button.

·         In the “Showing” drop-down box, select “100” to make sure that you can view all of the positions (marked below the Job Title header)  that are available.

·         Under the Job Title column, select the positions you wish; each position correlates to a practice interview. Then click “Apply.”

·         Select a resume (use the ACE resume format or resume book format).

·         Select an available interview time.

·         Select additional job titles for additional practices.

·         Please limit to three timeslots; if additional timeslots are remaining after the deadline, MPA Career Services will announce the extended sign-up opportunity.

·         Log out of On-Campus Recruiting.

 

WHY IT WORKS

·         Cheat Sheet. Real interviewers will use real interview questions to help you simulate their real interview.

·         Instant Advice. Interviewers will give you verbal advice immediately after your interview so that you can continue to work on your skills. In addition, they will complete a comprehensive feedback form, which MPA Career Services will provide to you.

·         Early Advantage. In the past, some students met their real interviewer through their mock interviews. A comfort level exists when you meet someone for the second time, especially in a real interview. In addition, some students have received real offers from their mock interviews.

OCR: RESCHEDULING/CANCELLING MOCK INTERVIEWS BEFORE THE SIGN-UP END DATE:

·         Go to OCR.

·         Click on My On-Campus Interviews.

·         Click on the Scheduled Interviews tab.

·         Select either Reschedule or Cancel.

·         Log out of On-Campus Recruiting.

·         NOTE: Cancellations after the interview sign-up date will result in losing access to OCR.

 

OCR: CHECKING YOUR INTERVIEW TIMES

·         Click on the Interviews tab.

·         Select Scheduled Interviews.

 

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING SIGN-UPS

While employers have registered to participate in the mock interviews, some have not completed their schedules. If you are unable to sign up for a mock interview time from now until the sign-up end date, you should continue to monitor OCR. As more employer schedules arrive, we will open them on OCR. The sign-up process for new times is the same as the normal process.
