ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP AVAILABLE: Boutique accounting firm has an opening for an accounting intern in our two-year internship program. Our firm provides accounting services for multiple clients across various industries in a team-based approach. The paid position is currently available for a student interested in working during their school career and requires an employment commitment for 4 semesters (4 of the next 5 consecutive semesters), with a minimum of 12 hours a week (Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm). This experience will benefit anyone interested in a career in financial reporting, tax, audit, or consulting. We are committed to training and developing the accounting and professional skills of this individual.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position is targeted at an individual who is highly motivated, dependable, innovative, and a team player. Strong analytical skills are essential. It is important that this person be inquisitive and assertive, someone who is looking for ways to improve what we do. In addition, excellent organizational and communication skills are required for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The employee will work with all aspects of the financial reporting process. This will begin with data entry work, as it is an important to understand all of the steps in the accounting process. This will also allow the employee the opportunity to evaluate the process for controls, accuracy, and efficiency. In addition, exposure to the details will enhance the employee’s ability when evaluating the financial data. Upon advancement, the employee may work directly at the client’s facilities, or have the opportunity to supervise and evaluate other personnel. Financial analysis, audit techniques, and spreadsheets are key components to the analytical steps we perform. Each semester the intern will train new interns on their tasks and learn new skills from others. The effectiveness of this rotation and skill development process is the reason behind the 4 semester commitment.

COMPENSATION: Compensation will begin at $8.00/hour. In addition to your wages, substantial training and exposure is included. You also have the opportunity to work with other interns ahead of you in school. This position will enhance your resume, as well as your skill set.
