Region XIII Educator Certification Program
December Graduates:
The Region XIII Educator Certification Program is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 teacher certification cohorts. The Educator Certification Program (ECP) is a rigorous 17-month program that provides an alternative route for individuals who have at least a bachelor’s degree and are interested in seeking teacher certification.
Training classes for this program follow a blended model combining both online and face-to-face class sessions. Face-to-face classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays to allow participants to continue in their current job while training to become teachers.
Online classes will begin for this new cohort in January of 2012 and face-to-face sessions begin in late March.
The application period for this cohort began on June 1, 2011 and will close on November 18, 2011. Teacher certification is available for Elementary Generalist EC-6, Bilingual Generalist EC-6, Bilingual Special Education EC-6, Special Education EC-12 (math or English Language Arts) and all Secondary content areas.
