The Texas Access to Justice Commission will be hosting its Pretrial Academy June 15 – 17 at the UT Law School.

The Pretrial Academy is an intensive three-day trial skills training open to legal aid attorneys who represent exclusively low-income clients.

The Commission is seeking four accounting students to serve as expert witnesses. The students will be required to review a case file before the event and serve as an expert witness in a mock deposition. Legal aid attorneys will be conducting a direct examination with the expert. Students will receive $50-$100, depending upon which timeslot they take:

Wednesday, June 15:
1 witness needed from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (witness paid $50)
Lunch provided between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
3 witnesses needed from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (each witness paid $100)

Please contact Hannah Silk Kapasi at (Hannah.Kapasi@TEXASBAR.COM) at your earliest convenience if you would like to volunteer for this experience!
