Financial Analyst Interns are utilized extensively at Dell in a wide range of levels and functions.  We have Financial Analysts supporting every aspect of our business.

General responsibilities:

  • Assist management in performing various ad-hoc projects or analysis such as financial performance impact analysis, financial models and reports, and variance analysis of actual and planned results.
  • Review journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Conduct analysis of profit improvement initiatives for the business.
  • Review processes and propose recommendations for improvement.
  • Help execute on strategic initiatives.

Financial Analysts serve as business partners in the functions they support primarily in the areas listed below.

Sales Segments
Finance teams in the Sales Segments work with marketing, sales, and customer service groups to drive key business initiatives.  Roles include:P&L Forecasting, Pricing, Operating Expense Management

Corporate Functions
Opportunities in the Corporate functions may include: Planning & Analysis; Controllership; Treasury; Tax; Internal Audit

Product Groups
Finance teams support Product Groups with the design and development of Dell products. Roles include supporting the following activities: Engineering; Product Development; Product Marketing

Operations Functions
Finance teams support Operations with the manufacturing and distribution of Dell products.  Roles include supporting the following activities: Manufacturing; Cost Planning; Procurement

Requirements:

  • Graduating from December 2011 to May 2012
  • Candidates Internship Participation – Summer 2011
  • Outstanding problem solving and quantitative analytical skills
  • Strong leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • International experience is a plus

Upon completion of a successful internship, candidates in Dell’s Analyst Intern program may be considered for a full-time position in the Finance Development Program.  This intense accelerated development program consists of four rotations over two years, classroom instruction, structured feedback process, special program incentives and networking activities.
