Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) Part-Time Clerk
Salary Range
$11.95 – $13.41/hour
Description
Clerks work in various functional areas within the IRS; therefore, specific duties may vary according to assignments. In general, clerical duties include:
- – Extracting, sorting, numbering, batching, filing, and maintaining tax returns and related correspondence;
- – Receiving, opening, sorting and distributing both incoming and outgoing mail;
- – Screening documents, forms, and letters addressed or routed to various offices;
- – Periodically reviewing filed material in light of ongoing programs or special projects.
The start date for the STEP Part-Time Clerk position is April 10, 2011 and the duration of the position is not to exceed 30 days.
Requirements
- • US citizenship
- • Age 16 or older
- • Males must be registered with the Selective Service
- • At least a 2.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
- • Must be taking at least a ½ time academic, vocational, or technical course load in an accredited school
