Volunteer Opportunity with Habitat for Humanity
The local Habitat for Humanity board is looking for assistance with basic accounting services. The successful intern candidate will work closely with the CFO, a member of the agencies Leadership Team, to ensure financials are completed timely & accurately for internal & external distribution. The successful candidate will have opportunities to liaise with other members of the agency & experience the inner workings of a high level non-profit business.
Overview of areas of involvement
- Journal Entries – single entity & inter-company
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Job Cost comparisons – Home building
- Month end assistance
Requirements of candidate
- Must have completed 1 or 2 subjects in accounting fundamentals
- Hard working & highly ethical.
- Willingness to learn & driven to become a professional accountant – whether for a non-profit or a for-profit organization.
