ACCOUNTING INTERN

Be a part of the Accounting team for Lollapalooza, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and C3’s other great live music experiences. 

We are currently looking for an Accounting intern for the Spring 2011 semester.   Requires  12 to 15 hours per week.  This is an unpaid internship. 

Job Summary:

This position works on a variety of general accounting/administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, journal entries, bank/cash reconciliations. It requires team work, initiative and the willingness to continually work to improve processes.

 Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Enters data.
  2. Maintains accounting files.
  3. Makes bank deposits and runs other accounting errands.
  4. Prepares and records journal entries.
  5. Sorts mail.
  6. Performs accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  7. Reconciles bank statements and cash transactions.
  8. Audits reports and billing statements.
  9. Researches vendor inquiries. 
  10. Performs other duties, as assigned by Finance Director.

 Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  2. Basic accounting knowledge and skills (debits, credits, journal entries)
  3. Experience with accounting software.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Must be a self-motivated, flexible team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  8. Positive attitude.
