Deloitte-Sponsored National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition
Deloitte will be sponsoring the 2011 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. Full-time students who are not currently employed in the IT industry (security operations, network administrator, programmer, help desk, etc.) as a salaried employee are encouraged to participate in this exciting and interactive competition.
The National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) is an organized event that allows teams of undergraduate and/or graduate students to exercise their academic and technical education and compete in a business-oriented competition. Teams assume administrative duties for an existing “commercial” network and are scored based on their ability to detect and respond to outside threats, maintain availability of existing services such as mail and web servers, respond to business requests such as the addition or removal of additional services, and balance security needs against business needs.
When?
Teams are expected to arrive at the competition location in San Antonio on Thursday, April 7 and registration will occur Friday, April 8. The competition will run over a three-day period (Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 10).
