Consulting involves providing content-specific knowledge and recommendations to solve problems for an external client or internally for an organization. Consultants work in business and nonprofit, and serve clients in academia, industry, government, nonprofit, and business.

 

Texas AD2C

These events are hosted in collaboration with Texas Advanced Degrees 2 Consulting (AD2C). AD2C strives to provide a platform for advanced degree students to explore the world of business by connecting students with the resources and individuals to enable a successful transition from academia to consulting. They are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative club environment where their members can build their business network, knowledge, and skills. Join AD2C.

 

Introduction to Consulting Careers for Advanced Degrees
Tuesday, February 2 at 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Hear from consultants who work in different fields including management consulting, public sector consulting, and educational consulting about what their work entails, their transition from graduate school, and their recommendations for graduate students getting started in this career. This event consists of a 60-minute panel discussion followed by 30 minutes of small breakout groups where attendees can meet with individual panelists. The panel will be moderated by the Co-Presidents of AD2C.

 

Consulting Skills: An Introduction to the Case Interview
Thursday, February 4 at 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Hear from a McKinsey recruiter and the Advanced Degree 2 Consulting club about the advanced degree consulting interview process. Learn what a case interview is, how to prepare for it, and see one happen live!

 

Consulting Skills: Practicing the Case Interview
Tuesday, February 9 at 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Join fellow interested advanced degree students to practice a case interview. In this session you will partner with another attendee to give and receive a case interview. Come away with specific feedback on your case interview skills and a potential practice partner! Attendees will have access to an extended registration deadline of February 10 for the Texas Case Competition for Advanced Degrees.

 

Students who attend all three consulting programs (listed above) will receive free subscriptions to CaseCoach, a leading online case interview prep platform used by 30+ universities and 7 Boston Consulting Group offices globally. Students have access to a single online platform covering all their case interview preparation needs, including video lectures and case interviews, practice drills for solving cases, a library of 60+ practice cases and solutions, and the ability to practice remotely with peers over video calls.

 

Texas Case Competition for Advanced Degrees
