Burnt orange faithful, rejoice. The University of Texas stormed through March Madness to win yet another NCAA national championship this year.

At least that’s how the tournament would play out if each game’s winner was the school with the most productive accounting researchers. Under those conditions, Texas advanced to the Final Four, where the Longhorns took down Michigan State to win it all. It was a rematch of the 2010 championship game, which Texas also won.

The results are courtesy of a Brigham Young University simulation of the NCAA men’s basketball post-season bracket, based on the research productivity of each school’s accounting department during the last six years.
