At Texas Venture Labs, we are incredibly proud to highlight the successes of our alumni. From launching innovative startups and driving progress in their careers to making significant contributions to their communities, their accomplishments motivate us all. We’re honored to have contributed to their journeys and eagerly anticipate sharing many more stories of achievement and innovation. Here are some recent updates on a few alumni members:
Clutch, formerly Campus Concierge and a ’21-’22 TVL Startup Fellows partner company, recently closed an acquisition deal with Plaiced, a digital marketing startup. After being backed by Precursor Ventures in 2022, Clutch has seen massive growth and has worked with over 70 media brands. According to what CEO Madison Long shared with TechCrunch, this acquisition “offers more monetization opportunities for creators leveraging our existing network of online communities.” Congratulations to Madison Long and the Clutch team!
We also want to offer congratulations to a Spring ’21 Accelerator Alumni, Dara Chike-Obi, President of Griö! Griö, formerly NwaBebé, has recently been awarded a utility patent for their innovative baby bottles! According to Dara’s Linkedin update, “this patent not only validates our innovative approach but also paves the way for Griö to make a lasting impact in the baby care industry.” Well done!
A shoutout to Whitney McElwain is in order as well. Whitney was a member of the Spring ’23 TVL Accelerator with her company Daybird, an anti-beauty beauty startup. She is now the new Director at KS WELI! Whitney will drive the Institute’s growth, reimagining and scaling programming to create greater impact and positioning us at the cutting edge of innovation at The University of Texas and beyond.
