Q&A: Ask Iman!

What BIG-E programs did you participate in?

Brumely Startup Fellows, TVL Investment Competition, TVL Practicum, and was a TVL Teaching Assistant.

What was your favorite memory with us?

There are many memorable moments. From the very first interview with Ian Bidot for the TVL Practicum to ultimately winning the TVLIC Championship, my experience at TVL was full of meaningful milestones. During the Practicum, I gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by both pre-revenue and post-revenue startups, and I had the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team to develop actionable strategies for real-world companies. A major inflection point occurred during my time as a TVL Startup in Residence Fellow. I initially entered the program with a venture idea in manufacturing and design automation. However, I soon discovered a more compelling opportunity in pediatric medical devices. That discovery led me to pivot—and ultimately spend the next three years developing what has now become Imagine Devices.

What are you currently pursuing now?

I’m currently leading Imagine Devices Inc. as we further develop and commercialize our neonatal and pediatric technology, Trinity Tube. In addition, I’m committed to giving back by mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs—helping them identify their passions and chart their unique paths forward.

Do you have any advice to give grad students or aspiring entrepreneurs?

It’s simple: find your passion, and if it aligns with BIG-E—then this is your home.

Whether you’re just beginning your entrepreneurial journey or refining an existing venture, they equip you with the tools, structure, and community to succeed. The key is to stay proactive, enthusiastic, and open-minded. With that mindset, amazing things will happen at BIG-E.

Why was entrepreneurship the path for you?

Entrepreneurship is deeply rooted in my personality, lifestyle, and future aspirations. I discovered that the intersection of engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship is my “sweet spot”—it’s where I feel most alive. This path led me to become a MedTech entrepreneur, with a strong passion for pediatric innovation. I’ve always been a builder, and I thrive in leading teams toward meaningful solutions.

What’s your favorite hidden gem in Austin?

I’m a coffee enthusiast, and one of my favorite spots is Radio Coffee—a place filled with great memories during my time in Austin. I also enjoy Woodlands Park, a peaceful community park by a branch of the Colorado River. It’s a quiet place to relax and connect with friends.
