Alex Gupta, MBA ’16 founded Break Point Energy to help companies buy clean energy tax credits. He previously worked as a renewable energy project investor at Bank of America.

Class Note: John Lilly, MBA ’07

John Lilly, MBA ’07, is now the Chief Product Officer at CarNow, a dealership technology vendor. With a mechanical engineering degree from Washington University in St. Louis, John brings valuable experience, including a six-year presidency at Integrated Auction Solutions and a prior role as Chief Product Officer at CDK Global. In his new capacity, John will spearhead product development in collaboration with CarNow’s executive team, aligning with business strategies.

Class Note: Bill Poston, MBA ’94

Bill Poston, MBA ’94, has received “The Phi of the Year” award from Phi Delta Theta Fraternity for his outstanding contributions in fraternity service, education, and community involvement. Drawing from his diverse entrepreneurial experience, which includes a partnership at Deloitte and the co-founding of Kalypso, Bill now dedicates himself to empowering professional service firms through The Launch Box. His commitment to education extends to teaching leadership development, and these contributions led to his recognition with the Raymond L. Gardner Alumnus of the Year Award.

Elizabeth Gorski-Fratus, MBA ’03, has been recently promoted to Managing Director at Deloitte LLP, where she advises senior firm leaders on growth strategies as part of the US Strategy & Technology team. Congratulations on this significant achievement!

Class Note: Jorge Silva-Puras, MBA ’96

Jorge Silva-Puras, MBA ’96, has been proudly appointed as the interim provost at Lehman College.  Currently the interim dean at CUNY School of Professional Studies, Silva-Puras brings a wealth of experience, having served as provost at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and taught business and entrepreneurship courses. His diverse background equips him to lead Lehman College through a successful transition.

About the board:
The McCombs School of Business MBA Advisory Board formed in 1996. Members assist the dean, associate dean of graduate programs, faculty, and staff of the McCombs School of Business in achieving and maintaining “best of class” status for the MBA programs. Members support the MBA program’s strategy planning, curricula, external affairs, alumni engagement, fundraising efforts, and student placement. Member nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. The executive committee considers nominations for membership each spring and new three-year terms begin Sept. 1.

Class Note: Michael O’Malley, MBA ’05

Michael C. O’Malley, MBA ’05, was recently appointed the executive director of the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate at the University of Notre Dame. With vast experience in real estate, entrepreneurship, and investment, O’Malley will lead external engagement with the industry, mentor students, and teach real estate courses at the university.
