A histogram is a graph that shows the count of data points falling within different ranges. It gets more complicated than that, and I’ll be the first to admit that my knowledge of histograms is limited to the contents of a Wikipedia entry, and some light Googling. And when I got to the section with the formulas, my eyes glazed over. So, if you want to learn more about the concept, I suggest you visit Wikipedia and search histogram.
Despite my very basic understanding (I do not have a statistical background) I can see why they are useful tools, and why many of you would want to use them. Well good news, there is a free histogram add-in in Excel, and an article that will explain how to use it.
So, if you want to learn more about creating histograms in Excel, go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/214269.
