MassChallenge’s interactive demo day in July featured JBTVL alumni companies TeVido BioDevices and WriterDuet, as well as TVLIC finalist HiPR. These companies have continued to make progress and reach further milestones since their time with TVL. To learn more about these and other Mass Challenge companies, visit this Startup Lookbook they put together.

Three TVLIC competitors will be finishing up their work in Blackstone Launchpad’s student-focused summer accelerator, SEAL. Oxymoron Ink, CooMo Travel and Empire Learning continued their startup journey with this phenomenal accelerator experience which provides curriculum and mentoring designed to help these aspiring student startups reach critical decisions about launching their business, new market strategy and new products. Along with several other promising UT Austin student entrepreneurs, these former TVLIC companies will be sharing their Go/No-Go decision at the SEAL Decision Day on July 30.

Our own Executive Director, Mellie Price, moderated a panel at Capital Factory’s Fed Supernova event last week. The 3-day event brought together leaders and entrepreneurs from across the DOD innovation ecosystem to explore collaboration opportunities. Mellie’s panel focused on pivoting DOD resources to focus on the fight against COVID-19 and featured Alex Goldberg, Chief Innovation Officer of the Texas Military Department, Colonel Joe Bookard of the US Army, and Jason Rathje, Director of AF Ventures (US Air Force). The key takeaway from the event was that the Department of Defense (DOD) innovation groups have valuable resources to offer entrepreneurs working across a variety of sectors. JBTVL is now engaged with those leaders and available to help connect our companies to that ecosystem.
