Fall 2016 Accelerator Companies Highlight

Here at TVL, we are accustomed to our Accelerator Companies doing great things – securing financing, filing patents, hiring people, and acquiring customers. This semester is no exception. Below are highlights for three of our companies that have all reached major milestones since the start of the semester in late August: MedNoxa, HERO and Peeple.

Founder and CEO of MedNoxa, Eric Frey, secured an exclusive license in late September to the technology developed at Purdue for an oxygenated bandage that improves wound healing times. This important step allows MedNoxa to move forward with their FDA approval process as a Class I device, which is on the fast track (exempt from premarket notification requirements).

HERO App was selected in the TechStars Mobility 2016 class in Detroit and pitched on Demo Day in early September. Founder CEO Alex Crosby was honored at the Forbes Under 30 Summit just last week in Boston. The HERO App specifically caught the attention of Jon Gray at The Blackstone Group. HERO has a pilot starting in Austin this holiday season in partnership with Heineken.

Peeple has just returned back to Austin from their most recent trip to China to set up tooling for the manufacturing of their Wi-Fi enabled camera that attaches to an existing peep hole on your front door. The trip resulted in the construction of five steel molds that will be used to create the plastic parts of the Peeple product. CEO Chris Chuter is excited at the progress toward fulfilling over 1,000 pre-orders and expects to ship before the end of the year.
