The Minor League Baseball (MiLB) ‘Fostering Inclusion through Education and Leadership Development’ (FIELD) Program is now accepting application for the class of 2017!

Dates: August 7 – 11, 2017
Location: Minor League Baseball Headquarters (St. Petersburg, Florida)
Cost: $250 plus cost of travel
Deadline to Apply: March 31, 2017

Last summer, Minor League Baseball hosted 25 students from 7 different colleges and universities during a week-long program designed to introduce students to the game and business of baseball. Last year’s group participated in group projects, professional development sessions focused on sales training and resume building in addition to hearing from a number of industry executives who instantly became a part of their network. They visited McKechnie Field to watch the Bradenton Marauders during an evening of leisure and shadowed the staff at Spectrum Field to get a first-hand experience at what it’s like working in Minor League Baseball. Every department in the office made presentations to the group so that the role of central headquarters was clear, and Michael Hill, President of Baseball Operations for the Miami Marlins, made the keynote presentation.

After spending the week in St. Petersburg, Florida, students were paired with mentors in the industry who would assist with their preparation for the 2016 PBEO Job Fair at the Baseball Winter Meetings. 23 of the 25 students who participated in the FIELD Program attended the Baseball Winter Meetings. Their experience yielded 60 interviews and 24 job offers!

MiLB is very excited to be bringing this program back! For more information and to apply, please visit: https://diversity.milb.net/field_program.aspx.
