Position: Core Forensics Associate
Location: Houston
Description: The Advisory Forensic Services practice provides financial, forensic, economic and statistical services to companies and their attorneys involved in litigation, arbitration, mediations and corporate investigations. We recognize that no single professional is right for all issues. To help a company with its specific needs, we pull together a specialized team from our national and global network of professionals who are leaders in their fields including analysts, actuaries, accountants and fraud examiners. We are prepared to offer guidance and assistance on claims processing, serve as expert witnesses, conduct fraud and forensic investigations and develop value-preserving solutions for companies experiencing weakening performance.

In particular, we help clients with corporate investigations, forensic technology solutions, complex commercial litigation, economic analysis, insurance issues, environmental, construction and government contract disputes. We also investigate fraud and related financial issues during bankruptcy and business reorganizations. By effectively examining the issues and communicating our findings, we work with our clients to make intelligent, informed decisions whether in the boardroom or in the courtroom.

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, provided that the candidate has demonstrated the required minimum number of hours for CPA licensure per respective state regulations

Job Duties: Forensic Associates in the Advisory Practice will play an integral role by supporting the financial, forensic, economic and statistical services provided to clients.

The selected individual(s) for the role must be able to demonstrate some proven knowledge and skills within the following areas:

  • An interest in all aspects of Forensics, as well as a desire to pursue a career in consulting.
  • Abilities as team member; building solid relationships; communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner; delivering clear requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback; and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor.
  • Research and analysis of technical matters, while utilizing problem-solving skills. This includes the analysis of large and complex data sets, demonstrating an aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, using the standard suite of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to execute related deliverables.
  • Utilization of effective written and verbal business communication skills when interacting with team members and/or clients in a professional setting.
