Suicide is considered to be the second leading cause of death for college students. That’s why the Counseling and Mental Health Center is organizing UT’s annual Suicide Prevention Week (September 22-26). This week is focused on raising awareness about suicide and engaging students, faculty and staff in suicide prevention. All are urged to recognize when their student or friend is thinking about suicide and connect them with the help they need. Throughout the week, 22 campus departments and organizations are promoting interactive programs as a call to action to prevent suicide within our campus community.
