Tejas Family Guidance Center is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to providing mental health services to children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. We offer individual therapy, group therapy, couples and family therapy. We also offer assessment services to ages 6-24. We help people address many issues, such as anxiety, depression, behavior management, parenting, learning disorders, ADHD, and autism.

Tejas is seeking to fill a volunteer bookkeeper position that may be broken into 2 positions. The position includes collecting payment from clients upon arrival and recording the information. Additional duties related to bookkeeping may be negotiable if desired. Following are a list of expectations and requirements:

  • Permission for a background check. Background checks are required due to the financial nature of the position as well as the nature of working with children.
  • The position requires that staff be available from 2:30pm-7:30pm (during busiest hours) Mon-Thu
    • This position allows for a good amount of down time between client arrivals, so bringing homework etc is certainly fine and a good way to study!
  • QuickBooks experience necessary
  • Staff will accept payment from clients (in the form of cash or check) and record payment on QuickBooks program
  • Staff will also print out receipts and/or invoices if necessary
  • Staff will assist in monthly accounts receivables invoicing
  • Staff will also help to enter other information regarding bookkeeping, such as accounts payable, etc.
  • We are open to suggestions to improve our system and would welcome the opportunity to have you help us develop a great bookkeeping system!

Please send inquires and/or applications, along with a statement of interest (may be done in email) and résumé to Allison Sallee, Executive Director, via email at allison.sallee@sbclgobal.net.
