The MPA application for fall 2009 made its debut on September 2! So, when is the best time to apply? The answer depends on your residency status and strength of your application.
U.S. applicants (citizens or permanent residents) with strong application credentials are encouraged to apply by December 1, particularly if you are interested in receiving an earlier decision notification. Please note the following:
- The admissions committee may decide to admit, deny, or place you on a waitlist, depending on the strength of your entire application.
- If your application would be strengthened with your fall grades or a GMAT retake, for example, be sure to wait to apply until your fall grades or new GMAT scores are on record.
- U.S. applications will be reviewed on a rolling admissions basis starting in January, and the final U.S. application deadline is March 1.
International applications are not reviewed on a rolling admissions basis, and the majority of decisions will be made by the end of March. Therefore, as long as your application materials are received by the February 1 application deadline, your file will be considered in the first round of international admissions decisions.

What should we do if we’re applying in time for the December 1st deadline, but are taking a course in the Spring ’10 semester that will be beneficial toward our application for Fall ’10 admission? Thanks!
Sara,
The application will allow you to indicate courses that are in progress. Although the we will make our decision before spring grades are on record, it is helpful for the admissions committee to be aware of any progress you are making towards fulfilling pre-enrollment requirements or in accounting, if applicable.
