Full-Time MBA Ranked No. 18, Accounting No. 1 in 2009 Report of Best Graduate Business Schools

The full-time MBA program at the McCombs School of Business ranks at no. 18 in the 2009 U.S. News survey of America’s Best Graduate Business Schools. McCombs has been included in the Top 20 programs in 15 out of the past 16 years. Only four public schools rank above McCombs: Berkeley (no. 7), Michigan (no. 13), UCLA (no. 14) and Virginia (tied at no. 15). For the third year in a row, the accounting program was ranked no. 1 in the nation.

Other specialties landing in the top 10:

  • No. 3 in Information Systems (10th year in a row, and 17th year in a row to be Top 5)
  • No. 8 (tie) in Entrepreneurship (McCombs has been top 10 for 13 years in a row)
  • No. 10 in Marketing (top 10 for 5 years in a row)

The Texas Executive MBA was ranked no. 18 (tie) and the Texas Evening MBA came in at no. 27 (tie)

U.S. News ranks schools based on peer assessment, recruiter assessment, admissions data such as GMAT scores and graduates’ salary and job placement. Specialty rankings, as well as those of executive and evening programs, are based completely on peer assessment.
