The annual McCombs Recruiter Summit held April 17 featured a full-day of educational activities and interaction with recruiters representing a host of companies and industries. The summit facilitated collaboration, shared learning and the opportunity to share best practices and explore avenues for strengthening relationships.

The sessions included: Employer Feedback, Best Practices for recruiting BBA, MBA, MPA and Working Professional MBA students and BBA, MBA, MPA and Working Professional MBA Student Panels.

The Employer Feedback session was a new addition to the format. In this session, recruiters partnered to discuss the challenges they are facing in the current economy, such as reduced travel budgets, reduced resources and higher yield expectations, and how McCombs Career Services can support their initiatives.

The keynote speaker of the day was Mark Finger (right), vice president of Human Resources for National Instruments, a company that has been recognized in Fortune magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America for the past 10 years and for the past two years in the UK, Germany, Italy and Mexico.   The title of his presentation, “Work Culture: Your Best Recruiter,” which suggested that a collaborative culture is key to recruiting success in any economy.

We look forward to next year’s event!
