John Griffin, McCombs associate professor of finance, appeared Oct. 29 on CCTV, the English language station in Beijing, China, for a half-hour panel discussion on the role governments should play in worldwide economies.
“While the bailout makes sense in the short run there are negative consequences in terms of bailing out firms that have behaved poorly in the past and it encourages bad risk-taking in the future,” Griffin said. Watch the video.
