Finance Professor Ehud Ronn returned from the 2008 Financial Services Institute Symposium, held Sept. 12 at St. John’s University, with the Best Paper Award. The report he presented, “A Simple Model for Time-Varying Expected Returns on the S&P 500 Index,” was co-authored with James Doran of Florida State University and Robert Goldberg of Adelphi University.

The conference is held annually and includes peer reviewed presentations from academics and practitioners in the field of finance. The best papers from the conference will be published in the Review of Business, a journal of the business school at St. John’s, according to the conference’s Web site.

Ronn is also director of the Center for Energy Finance Education and Research at the McCombs School.
