My fellow classmate and class of 2012 MBA candidate, Nobu took an amazing trip to Bolivia during spring break. Here’s how he spent his glorious 14 days.
1. Where all did you go?
Bolivia (La Paz, Sucre, Potosi, Uyuni, and desert)
2. Best single moment of the trip?
Best single moment is when I went to Lake Uyuni (Salar de Uyuni), which was the most beautiful spot on this trip. But, 30 minutes before going there, I saw the TV news of the earthquake in Japan so I worried about my friends in Japan (At this moment, I received an e-mail from my family). Also, I got a lot of e-mails from classmates. They worried about my family and friends.
3. Most delicious food? What was it, and did you take a picture?
Most foods in Bolivia were awesome but the best one is the llama’s dish that I ate in La Paz. Also, the dessert (Chocolate mousse) I ate with llama’s meat was very delicious.
4. Most useful phrase you learned in Spanish?
Most impressive Spanish phrase is “Asi es la vida,” which means “This is the life.”
5. Who did you go with?
I went to Bolivia alone and joined the tour for 11 days. Tour members were 3 British, 1 Irish, 1 Swedish, 1 Canadian and 1 Bolivian tour leader.
6. Favorite tourist spot and why?
Favorite tourist spot is Salar de Uyuni as I mentioned above. If you go there, you feel as if you are in the different world.
7. Favorite local spot and why?
Favorite local spot is Minuteman, a pizza restaurant in Uyuni. Its pizzas were awesome, and the owner of this restaurant is very friendly.
