Hi, my name is Kalin McKenna and I am a first year student at McCombs. I’m originally from California and received my undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) where I studied history and medicine. I moved to Austin after spending four years in Washington DC where I worked at a small event management firm, and suffered through a few too many east coast winters. While in DC I became interested in the field of Social Enterprise and determined that heading back to school would be the best way to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to switch careers.

When I was applying to grad school I wanted a program that offered experiential learning, and was very impressed with the PLUS program at McCombs. Preview Weekend further solidified my commitment to come to UT. The more I learned about the program and the people, the more I knew this was where I needed to be. McCombs is the perfect place for me to pursue my field of interest while being surrounded by exceptional classmates with diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences.

In my spare time you can find me swimming laps at Gregory gym, enjoying the Austin music scene, watching football, or decompressing with my yoga mat.
