Hi, my name is Kristin Miller and I am a second year student at McCombs. Originally from Westport, Connecticut, I received my undergraduate degree from Cornell University where I majored in History of Art. After graduation I moved to New York City and bounced around the art world before landing in the marketing department of Lincoln Center Theater. At LCT, I discovered my passion for digital marketing, especially the opportunities to innovate presented by this relatively new and growing field. After nearly four years in the not-for-profit arts world, I decided to pursue an MBA to gain knowledge and a network that could help me switch industries.

When deciding where to attend business school, I knew I was looking for a top-notch marketing program. Additionally, the opportunity to get real-world experience through McCombs’ MBA+ Program appealed to me as an industry-switcher. Most of all, however, the other people in the program were my deciding factor. The 2nd years and incoming students I encountered during Preview Weekend here at McCombs were some of the most interesting, talented and driven people I’ve ever met. I knew whether working on a project, or just hanging out at home, I’d have a fun and enlightening time for the next two years and beyond.

Outside of school, I am an unabashed foodie and you can often find me cooking, baking, blogging about food, tweeting about food or eating out at one of Austin’s many great restaurants or food trucks. If you have any questions about McCombs (or Austin restaurant queries or suggestions) don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at Kristin.Miller@mba12.mccombs.utexas.edu.
