First Texas MBA Friday

This past Friday was the first Texas MBA Friday and all I have to say is “I’m impressed”.  I just couldn’t believe how many people are doing their research and looking at schools already.  I definitely wasn’t one of those people; I took the GMAT in October of last year, so if you’re doing research and visiting campuses already, hats off to you.  I definitely added some unnecessary stress to my application process by going this route.

Visit campus

If you are thinking about applying to McCombs I would definitely recommend visiting campus on a day like this.  It’s a great chance for you to meet current students and get a better idea of campus life.  It’s also a great opportunity to take a class, meet faculty/advisers and experience Austin.  When I was applying I visited the campus before applications, before my interview and then during Preview weekend when I got accepted.  These visits really solidified my decision to attend McCombs.

Don’t worry, if you missed this past Texas Friday, you still can come and visit.  Here is a link to all the organized events McCombs holds for full-time prospective students.  I would highly recommend it!

Thinking back

One thing that I couldn’t help thinking about during this event was how time has flown since I first took the GMAT and applied.  It seems like just yesterday when I was interviewing and visiting campus.  If you’re applying now, this is a great time in your life and don’t stress; before you know it you’ll be studying and going to that school of your dreams (hopefully it’s McCombs).  I’m stoked for all of you and hopefully I’ll be reading a blog like this from one of you this time next year!

Hook ‘em!
