Very little about this football season has been surprising thus far. Even the Detroit Lions defeating my beloved Washington Redskins wasn’t all that surprising (demoralizing, yes; surprising, no). The Longhorns have been reliable in destroying the first three teams they’ve played thus far (even reaching a basketball-like score of 64-7 over UTEP last weekend).
This season [...]

Things are heating up here at the McCombs School of Business. Gone are the weeks of getting acquainted with going back to school. Instead we find ourselves in a frenzy of quizzes, cases, projects, and exams. That’s right, October officially marks the onset of first quarter finals and I can already see stress lines on [...]

As first-years, so much of what we do is a new experience – attending the first career fair, working the first T-account problem, preparing for the first case interview. However our academic schedule this year isn’t just a new experience for the first-years; it’s a new experience for McCombs faculty and administration as well!
This year, [...]

I haven’t written in a while and to those who care what I have to say from time to time I apologize. My first few weeks of school have been packed to say the least. Of course this is not meant to complain, as we make our own bed (figuratively of course - literally we all [...]

Balance is a word you hear frequently throughout the hallways of the McCombs School of Business. Professors tell us we need to find it, our classmates are constantly searching for it, and internally we all understand the importance of achieving the right balance between school and life, career searching and studying, and hard work and [...]

We’re a few weeks into classes, and I’m beginning to realize how fast this semester is going to go by. In addition to my normal class load, I’m a TA for Advanced Marketing Management for the Texas Evening MBA program and am running recruitment for the next class of CCIMS Marketing Fellows. Add in my [...]

My summer was a complete whirlwind, and it’s hard to believe I’ve already finished the first year of school, completed my long-awaited summer internship, and come back for year 2…AND that a week of class has gone by. Sadly, I know the rest of my MBA will be over in a blink. I’m thinking denial [...]
