As we continue to move through the application period for the MBA class of 2013, we want to make sure everyone is aware of our holiday office schedule.
The McCombs School of Business and the MBA Program Office will be closed from Friday, December 24, 2010 until Monday, January 3, 2011. Please contact us with any questions you anticipate before the 24th as we will not be available during that time to take your calls and emails.
Students have wrapped up with classes for the semester and will not be on campus until late January; therefore, we will not be conducting information
sessions during this time. We highly encourage prospective students to plan their visit to McCombs after the students return. The first Texas MBA Friday of 2011 will occur on January 21, and the first information session will take place on January 28. Class visits will resume on January 24. Additionally, if you are invited to interview as part of the application process, we recommend that you interview with an alumni in your city and plan to visit campus once school is back in session for the spring semester.
Texas MBA students will be in various cities on their winter break conducting Coffee Chats. This is a great opportunity to meet current students and learn about what it is like to be a Texas MBA. Go to the Coffee Chat website to see if there will be a coffee chat in your city and register to attend.
For many, the holiday break from work can be a great time to sit down and put those final touches on your application. As a reminder, our next deadline (and final deadline for all international applicants) is January 14, 2011 – not very far after the holiday break.

Can those of us that interviewed in November expect a decision prior to the 24th?

It usually takes 4-6 weeks after your interview to receive a final decision, excluding any holidays/holiday breaks (like Thanksgiving and Christmas). We are trying to release as many decisions as possible before the our offices close for the break but if you interviewed in mid-late November it is more likely that you will receive a decision after we re-open in the New Year. Thanks for your patience!
