McCombs’ Rolling Admissions Process and Deadlines
November 16th, 2009 · Applying · Posted by Sharon Barrett
Here in Texas MBA admissions we observe a rolling process, yet we provide deadlines similar to schools who observe set rounds. If your application was received as complete by our first deadline of November 2nd, you will receive a decision on your file no later than January 30, 2010. We generally review files for decision in the order they are received as complete. So if you you missed November 2nd, don’t hold off submission until January 15th - our final suggested deadline for international applicants and the second deadline for domestic applicants. Work on tying up any loose ends and submit your Texas MBA application as soon as it’s ready.

A general Q&A follows the panel discussion and later attendees will have the chance to talk with school representatives and alumni to ask school-specific questions. Instructions for Re-Applicants
October 9th, 2009 · Applying · Posted by Angela Zerda
With the 2010 application up and running, questions are starting to roll in from those who have applied
to the Texas MBA Program in the past and are interested in re-applying for the Class of 2012.
First of all, let me clarify that having applied in a previous year is not considered a negative factor in your application. We are pleased to see your continued interest in the program and will evaluate your new application on its merits, and in the context of the new applicant pool.
Application Requirements: All reapplicants are required to complete a new application, new essays, a new resume and pay the application fee. Transcripts do not need to be resubmitted unless you have taken additional course work. As long as your test scores (GMAT/ TOEFL) remain valid, you do not need to have them resent from the test centers. If your test scores are no longer valid you need to retake them.
Additional Considerations: Determine if other recommenders may provide more current and insightful feedback and if so, submit new letters of recommendation. Also consider retaking tests(GMAT/TOEFL) and submitting new scores if you feel your score can be improved. If you choose to submit new scores, please monitor your online application status to ensure the new scores are received before your application is forwarded to McCombs for review. GMAT scores are valid for 5 years after the date the test is taken. For TOEFL scores, this period is two years. The McCombs Admissions Committee only uses the highest submitted score in the evaluation of applications.
Think of your reapplication as a fresh start and an opportunity to address any weak areas from your previous application. Think through your essays and add any new information since your last application. Make sure your resume clearly expresses your skills and experience.
Please note that since we have received materials from you in the past, the online status check site may display “received” for the essays and resume prior to your submission of new ones. Your old application is available to the evaluators but the admission decision will be based upon the new application materials.
The method of application for all new and re-applicants is the online application at: http://mba.mccombs.utexas.edu/admissions/. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact TexasMBA@mccombs.utexas.edu.

Application LIVE for Fall 2010
September 16th, 2009 · Uncategorized · Posted by Tina Mabley
The application for the fall of 2010 is now LIVE. The admissions team is looking forward to a new season of applications. Remember to pay attention to application deadlines. We use a rolling admission process, meaning that we review applications as they come in. However, we give priority to those submitted before each deadline. To be sure that you make a deadline, plan early so you have time to be sure all of the components of you application are submitted. We look forward to learning more about the future students for the Class of 2012!
