Charles Peyton Ripley, BBA ’65, and his wife, Darla Chapman Ripley, are proud grandparents of Taylor Anthony Ripley, born Dec. 15, 2008.

Bob Kelly, BBA ’66, was elected to a second term as mayor of the City of West University Place, Texas, located within the City of Houston. Before being elected mayor, Kelly served 30 years as senior counsel in the legal departments of Phillips Petroleum Co., The Coastal Corp. and The El Paso Corp.

Robert P. Braubach, BBA ’73, traveled to Windhoek, Namibia, as a member of an international trade mission hosted by the Namibian government to promote trade and investment opportunities between that country and the United States. He is an attorney in San Antonio and specializes in international business transactions and commercial real estate.

Kenneth W. Harbin, BBA ’73, joined Certified Appraisers, Inc. as a business appraiser/valuation professional. Previously, he was an independent business appraiser with the Texas Business Group.

Mark G. Daniel, BBA ’77, was awarded the Percy Foreman Lawyer of the Year Award by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Daniel currently practices with the firm of Evans, Daniel, Moore and Evans in Fort Worth.

Don Farmer Jr., BBA ’78, is president of Great Western Metals, a stainless steel and aluminum distributor based in Houston. Great Western Metals specializes in laser and water jet cutting.

Cynthia Hujar Orr, BBA ’79, is president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Orr is also co-chair of the American Bar Association Defense Functions Committee.

Mark Jacobs, BBA ’85, is president and executive director of Many Paths World Service, a nonprofit organization that helps communities build a social atmosphere of interfaith tolerance. Before he co-founded MPWS, he was the sole proprietor of a business management firm.

Michael Salop, BBA ’86, is senior vice president of investor relations at Western Union. Previously Salop was the treasurer and senior vice president of investor relations at Mattel Inc.

Christopher Temple, BBA ’89, joined the board of directors for Plains All American GP LLC as the representative from Vulcan Energy Corp., of which he is director.

Brett Hurt, BBA ’94, was a finalist in the Austin region for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 Award . Hurt is the founder and CEO of Bazaarvoice, an online consumer relations company that helps businesses turn customer reviews into a marketing tool.

Lionel L. Lin, BBA ’01, and Paula Rattanavong Ling, BBA ’01, welcomed their daughter and the newest little Longhorn, Petyon Elise Lin, to the family on May 29, 2009 in Austin, TX. Lionel is currently a program manager for Global Online at Dell, Inc. and Paula is a project manager in Dell’s data center solutions division.

Theresa Neil, BBA ’01, co-authored “Designing Web Interfaces: Principles and Patterns for Rich Interactions” (O’Reilly Media, 2009).

Jack Luckett, BBA ’02, has joined the law firm of Curran Tomko Tarski, LLP in their litigation section, with a focus on complex business litigation.

Aditya Mehta, BBA ’07, was promoted to national head of online trading at Asit C. Mehta Investment Intermediates Ltd., a large privately held financial services firm based out of Mumbai, India.

Arif Momin, BBA ’07, is a commercial analytics and trading analyst at Calpine Corp., a power company that focuses on clean and renewable energy.

Michel Accad, MBA ’78, is the CEO and chief general manager of Gulf Bank in Kuwait.

Steve Perkins, MBA ’81, is the vice president, senior account consultant, client services at Burke Inc. Burke is a full-service marketing research and decision support company based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Alan P. Yonack, MBA ’83, is the senior vice president of investments at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Yonack was ranked among the Top 1000 Advisors in America in Barron’s 2009 list and in the Dallas Business Journal’s Winner’s Circle of Top Wealth Advisors in North Texas.

Ellen Keszler, MBA ’87, joined the board of directors of Farelogix Inc., a travel industry technology provider. Keszler is president and CEO of Clear Sky Associates, a management and strategy-consulting firm focused on the technology and travel industries.

Todd Ebert, MBA ’92, is vice president of marketing at ReachLocal, a global online marketing firm that connects advertisers to local audiences.

Paul Clemmons, MBA ’94, is a senior partner at Deloitte Consulting LLP, and was named the Emerging Solutions National Service Line Leader focusing on incubating new enterprise application software practices. Paul also leads Deloitte’s pro bono program in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he has lived and worked since he was recruited by Deloitte out of McCombs.

Matthew Langie, MBA ’97, was elected to the board of directors for the Web Analytics Association. Langie is currently the senior director of product marketing for Omniture, which specializes in online business optimization software.

Xianping Jiang, MBA ’98, and her husband, Jeffrey Holm, are proud parents of Anjilea Jiang Holm, born March 20, 2009.
