Advising Week 2009

Advising Week 2009 is scheduled for October 5th–9th, with an Advising Fair on Wednesday, October 7th from 10 am – 2 pm on the South Mall.

The Advising Fair will feature advisors and staff from various majors/resources across campus, all in one location. Stop by the Advising Fair with questions, and get answers! For example, learn how to:

  • Transfer within UT
  • Add a major
  • Effectively use career and internship resources
  • Study abroad

More events will be featured throughout the week for students to gain additional information such as internal transfer info sessions and other opportunities to get involved.

Thinking about dropping a course?

If you have any questions, please feel free to make an advising appointment to discuss them.

Q/F Period: From September 24 through Wednesday, October 21– you will need your professor’s signature for a drop, and your professor can assign either a “Q” (no academic penalty) or “F” (academic penalty).  You will not receive a refund.

Fall 2009 Graduating Seniors-Apply to Graduate!

The deadline is Oct. 21. If you are graduating spring 2010, you will wait until the spring semester to apply to graduate.

BHP Prague Finance 357H

Enrollment is open for the 2010 BHP Prague program. The price is $4400 with registration fees through University Extension of $800.

To enroll, download the two required enrollment forms from the CIBER website and bring a $500 non-refundable deposit to CIBER: http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/research/ciber/summer/forms.asp

The McCombs School of Business will host an Open House to introduce interested UT undergraduate and master’s students to opportunities in Ph.D. programs in business on Friday, October 2 at 3:00 p.m.  This will be held in the Legacy Events Room, CBA 3.202 in the McCombs School of Business.  Refreshments will be served.  Pre-registration is not required.

Students will learn about McCombs Ph.D. program offerings, and will also be able to network with faculty and graduate advisors.  Following the main presentations, there will be breakout sessions conducted in the following doctoral subject areas:

·         Accounting
·         Finance
·         Information, Risk, and Operations Management
·         Management
·         Marketing
