UT Austin students are invited to visit our nation’s capital May 24-28 for a crash course in Washington, D.C.

Welcome to the Beltway: May 24-28, 2010
Welcome to the Beltway is a 5-day crash course in D.C. in which participants meet and mingle with professionals to learn about careers in Washington, D.C. Over the visit, students meet with White House and Federal Agency staff, Congressional staff, senior policy analysts, seasoned political journalists for newspapers and magazines, campaign strategists and many others. The program is hosted by the Archer Center/University Texas System and the D.C. Texas Exes.

Eligibility
The 2010 seminar is open to all UT System undergraduate and graduate students and alumni.

Tentative Program Schedule
Monday – May 24 Check into Lodging (between 4pm and 6pm) and Welcome Event
Tuesday – May 25 Business panel, Non-Profit and the Arts panel and International Relations Networking Lunch
Wednesday – May 26 Policymaking panel, Communication panel and Capitol Tour
Thursday – May 27 Legal panel and Networking Reception
Friday – May 28 Check out of Lodging, DC Wrap-up Session and Sightseeing

Program Fee
The program fee is $395, which includes:
* 4 nights of lodging
* Several meals during the week
* Networking receptions and events
