Psychology Major Information Sessions

Admission to Psychology as an Undergraduate Major (For Current UT Students)

Are you interested in declaring Psychology as a double major or transfering altogether?

Attending an internal transfer information session is now required to be eligible for admission to the Psychology major. The intent of these sessions is to enhance your understanding of psychology as a major at UT and therefore help you determine if psychology is the right major for you.

Feb. 28th – College of Communication Internal Transfer Application Deadline

Are you interested in doubling majoring in Communication (advertising, public relations, journalism, radio-tv-film, etc.)? If so, the application for fall admission is due February 28. The Internal Transfer Application process is for current UT students who want to:

  • Transfer into the College of Communication from another college at UT
  • Change majors within the College of Communication

The BHP admits a limited number of transfer students into the program after they have completed their freshman year of college. Current McCombs freshmen are strongly encouraged to apply! Sophomore transfer applications are evaluated heavily upon academic performance, the rigor of your first-year schedule, and on your ability to demonstrate leadership and initiative outside of the classroom. The UT Department of Psychology is holding Internal Transfer Information Sessions for Summer or Fall 2010 Admission. If you are interested in switching to or adding psychology as a major, attendance at one of these sessions is mandatory for admission purposes.

Bridging Disciplines Program Application

The Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) allow you to earn an Interdisciplinary Certificate in one of 11 different concentration areas:

  • Human Rights & Social Justice
  • Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship

Learn more about the Bridging Disciplines Programs by coming to an Information Session with BDP advisors every Tuesday from 11:00 am-12:00 pm, and every Wednesday from 3:00 pm-4:00pm in FAC 1.

BDP advisors will answer questions and tell you about the requirements for each program, how a BDP can work with your degree plan and how to choose the right BDP for you.  You will also learn about the application process and hear valuable tips about how to write an effective application essay.
If you cannot attend one of these information sessions, please call 232-7564 to make an appointment.

The Spring BDP application deadline is FRIDAY, MARCH 12th.
